Xbox Game Studios, The Coalition, and People Can Fly premiered the Gears of War: E-Day story trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25. The prequel is set fourteen years before the original game and follows young Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago through the first hours of Emergence Day. It launches October 6, 2026, on Xbox Series X and S and PC, day one on Game Pass.
