Castlevania: Belmont's Curse launches on October 15, less than a week away. The new 2D action game stars Rose Belmont, the daughter of series hero Trevor Belmont, and sends her through Paris and into Dracula's castle in 1499. It arrives on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Switch version coming later in 2026. Here is what to know before launch.
Setting and Story
Belmont's Curse takes place in Paris in 1499, 23 years after the events of Castlevania III. Rose Belmont fights monsters across the city before heading into Dracula's castle, using weapons and skills that include the sacred whip Vampire Killer.
Familiar names return. The cast of characters includes Trevor Belmont, Count Dracula, Joan of Arc, Medusa, Carmilla, and Death, alongside new faces such as The Fallen and Isaac. The Japanese voice cast has been announced, with Yui Ishikawa as Rose and Ryotaro Okiayu as Trevor.
Who Is Making It
Konami is publishing the game. Evil Empire is the developer, with Motion Twin co-developing, the same pairing known for the Dead Cells ecosystem. The game is described as an exploration-based 2D action title.
Platforms and Editions
Pre-orders came with an Alucard-style costume. The Midnight Edition Bundle adds a digital sound and art gallery with 71 tracks, plus a Traverse-style costume, a Cipher-style costume, and a Family Portrait magical device.
